- SWAZILAND - Swaziland was a cultural experience to say the least. Apart from the beautiful countryside and people everywhere you go offering big welcoming smiles, we were privileged enough to visit a few of the Swazi places of interest. At the Matsumo Cultural Village, we were taken on a personal journey with Sipho, where we learned all about traditional Swazi Culture, walked through their village and experienced a traditional dance ceremony. I even met a very special young lady in Swaziland called Bulelwa and if only I had enough Cows ... I could have asked her to marry me. Bulelwa was worth every one of those 15 Cows and will long be remembered with her beautiful smile, great dance technique and a personality to match. The Ngwenya Glass Factory is where they make everything from souvenirs to artistic decorations and although photo's are not allowed, one of the talented craftsmen put on a brief demonstration to show his talents. We also visited the Coral Stephens Hand Weaving Factory where skilled Swazi women produce hand woven fabrics from mohair, silk, wool, cotton and raffia. The hand made nature of the fabric gives it a unique look and edge. It is highly individual and combines a modern feel with an age-old manufacturing technique.
