- EGYPT -

The Wonders Of Egypt was an inspirational tour to say the least ... and with Hatem as our guide, we could not have asked for a more passionate, well respected Egyptologist to take us on our journey through Ancient Egypt.  Ask for this man by name.

So as not to bore you with mentioning all of the names of all the temples and places we visited, I have tried to give you just four photo's from each place and clearly marked the name of the location where the photo's were taken.

To be honest, there is simply too much history to tell and with the sheer volume of information Hatem filled my head with, I have only managed to retain a fraction.  Put simply, I found Egypt and it's many wonders an awe inspiring experience that truly has to be seen to be believed.  No documentary or photo I have ever seen measured up to actually being there.  Nothing can really give you a feeling for the sheer scale in which these ancient people created architecture.  Everything is huge.  Almost every wall and roof is intricately decorated with hieroglyphs telling stories and offering sculptures that boggle the mind and what's more, so much of it is still standing many thousands (Yes Thousands!) of years later.  I'll bet no construction company today envisages their buildings lasting that long.

Egypt is more than just the ancient wonders however, with scenery that is like nowhere else on earth and people who make you feel welcome and protected, although from what ... we were never able to get a straight answer.  There are Police armed with machine guns absolutely everywhere you look, which for our culture is a little unnerving to begin with, but you soon realise that you can feel at ease.

Please understand that the photography here isn't the best as lighting, access and angles available were not always at a premium however, I do hope you find them good enough to get an idea of some of the magnificent things we experienced in this very unique land.

Alabaster, Papyrus, Egyptian Essence Oils and Fine Glass are some of the goods we were lucky enough to see being made and purchase along with solid gold Cartouche's depicting your name in hieroglyphs.

Enough of the idle chit chat ... we do hope you enjoy this brief glimpse into Egypt.
